Amazing, Xue Song shows maturity during play, under so much pressure, with the game slipping away, then he gets a grip on himself, stays calm, recompose, rethink his strategy, dig his heels in and fight back point by point to get himself back into the game. My, oh my, what a match.
I thought XS was gone when he was 12-19 down with the way SK was playing but what a come back we have.
This extraordinary experience will benefit Xue Song much, boosting his confidence, enhancing his inner belief, and stand him in good stead in future. His character, perseverance and never-say-die spirit is remarkable. Coming from behind to win when all seemed lost is an unforgettable experience that can only toughen and strengthen him substantially.
K Srikanth is praiseworthy too. There is good reason why Li Ning picks Srikanth and Sindhu to offer them sponsorships.
Too engrossed in the Australian Open and did not watch any of the matches from day one. Just check the results in TS and read your posts here. Glad that the Chinese youngsters played well to win 4 titles. That match between XS and SK must be very exciting the way you guys described it.
Both the coach Gopichand and the player Srikanth himself were too excited and eager to win. Another thing is you cannot go all out to win G1 without pacing yourself well - he was literally attacking at every opportunity without constructing his rally when needed.
I think if this match were played outside India, Srikanth wouldn't be over-excited but would be able to play more normally at his high level and minimise those wild swings.
