Is there a definitive correct stance when receiving serve in doubles.
Currently I would stand with my weight pushed forward on my non-racket foot, knee bent while standing on right toe.
In doing so I'm protecting against a flick but maybe not so good coming forward.
Should my stance be more evenly balanced so as to be able to bring my racket foot forward quicker if attacking the short serve.
Should both feet by flat on the ground, both on toes, etc.
Your weight should be more evenly balanced with both feet on the floor, but not flat footed. I would suggest the easiest way to pick a stance is to simply look at the stance of professionals e.g. hendra setiwawan, or lee yong dae.
Yes look at the professionals.. the people we play exactly like. There is NOTHING wrong with your stance at all. Little variations, differ depending on player preference. I like you choose to cover the flick like so.

If u like to 'rush' low serves often then u should distribute yr body weight about 80% on yr left TOES and 20% on your right TOES. Always get ready standing on yr TOES in receiving doubles serves. Rear foot not too far apart, easier for pushing yr body forward to tap a loose serve or 'push' it to empty sides.
If yr opponent can do good flick serves then maybe 70:30 will be better and easier to jump back and smash it down.
Lee Jae Bok has a few videos on receiving low/flick serves. He's suggestion on side-on stance, weight distribution, as well as where you may stand. He also has 2 approaches - non-racket foot step forward, or the racket foot. There's description about the hops in receiving flick serves.
