So, today I was near a SportChek and when I looked at the badminton racket area there was a Nanoray 700RP. I could tell it was a counterfeit because of many things. Some of them are; Grainy buttcap The racket has misplaced many things in the design. Extra spot after YONEX on the handle Shrink wrap not very tight Fake codes Shaft looks lighter Bad Grommets Incorrect string tension Nanoscience did not have the red on symbol. Only white ( forgot to take picture ) Also the shaft seemed a bit thicket. I'm having trouble with pictures. I'll see if I can figure it out later. Until then, here is link with picture that show it. There is one picture to show that I was in SportChek and one to show what the CH on shaft should have been. http://imgur.com/UuLUT4V,D4ouFBZ,1p...RCN,QjXu832,qSf4tXr,5UQ8onI,qvODAON,PFRZ8U8#0 Serial Numbers 5199579 168000CH lol 80 Month, 0 in last spot, and code doesn't match The final question is, since SportChek is an authorized dealer, why is there a counterfeit racket with CH code?
Wow this is quite shocking.... Maybe someone tried to get them in trouble by placing a fake racquet on the racks?..., are they anymore fakes or is that the only fake?, did you talk to the people who we're working there?
From what I seen, that was the only fake. My mom was in a rush to get things done so I didn't ask the staff because we had to go. I really wonder what happened though :i
Never mind you're in Calgary as I am referring to your authenticity code sources, was it from a mall? Sunridge mall? Marlborough? Chinook? Market? Cross iron? I'm in Calgary as well
Okay I found a clue kinda... Sports chek has this lock thing on the shaft to prevent theft I'm pretty sure, this one does not have a lock.
Oh.... Did not see that... The locks are different at the sportschek I go to :0 sorry my mistake!. What centres do you play badminton at? :3 maybe we could play together?
Clear one.. That's pretty far from me as I am from the SE, I usually goto Sunridge badminton centre and village square leisure centre! And also welcome to the forum! Enjoy your stay! As I see you're a new member Also for the nano speed and the nano ray comparison I think that nano speed might be fake as well? It's CH coded and sportschek stores are suppose to hold CD coded :000 I'm very interesting on what happened now
lol, the nanospeed 100 and sigma 7 were bought in China from a yonex store. so it *should* be good ... :c after i post it the edit button works :c
It could have been a smart customer making a purchase of a genuine one and then making a "return" to a sales person who isn't clued in to how to check this stuff.
^ but a likely explanation. I really cannot see a large corporate like Sportchek shooting itself in the foot by stocking a counterfeit racquet when they make enough margins on the real stuff without any issue. Likely this happened during the year-end sales when things were hectic and someone slipped one in...
It has to be a fraud. Someone bought a real YY racket, and later refunded by returning a fake racket. The cashier failed to identify a fake and processed the refund. This kind of fraud happens all the time even for luxary brand like LV or Burberry, etc
