I don't know if there are any other enthusiasts on this forum from Alaska, but if there are, and was not aware of places to play, the Anchorage Badminton Club meets every Saturday at the Spenard Recreation Center from Noon-2:30. $5 court fee. You can also find us on Facebook, just search for Anchorage Badminton.
Haha, while I could agree Oldhand, Badminton use to thrive here over a decade ago, and thanks to a couple transfers from Fairbanks (where Badminton has been pretty popular!), things slowly got rolling again this last March. A lot of us are part of that original batch of players from all those years back, and we have a lot of good players with national experience here in the States, as well as ones that used to compete/train and come from places like the Philippines, India, Germany, and Malaysia. The best part? It's catching on again in a way that could possibly be forcing the Rec center we play at to give us another day to play. And Visor, we use Yonex Mavis 2000's alot. Shipping to Alaska is not cheap and we'd rather not obliterate our feather birds that a lot of us do in fact have. Haha.
