I was playing badminton in a public club yesterday and i just so happened to meet a person pretty well experienced in badminton. Just as all the badminton players do in a match, i was checking out how good he was in all of the shots. And when i cleared to see how does his backhand shot, and BOOM! a cross-court smash with backhand and my jaw dropped o.o And it was really hard to identify whether he was doing a backhand toss or a smash, as both of those shots looked really identical. Now, i wanna learn to do it..... can anyone seen someone do that? Or if you've done it, can you tell me how to do that? I think it requires a lot of wrist power :O
I think yr clear to his backhand is not high/deep enough. A proper clear should not be able to be smashed w/ a backhand. OR u are playing against someone wayyy above yr level, but that is good so u can improve a lot.
just youtube taufik, the king of backhand. you are correct, the good deceptive way of executing a shot is to make it look the same on the swing, but changing it last minute so that your opponent doesn't know which shot to anticipate.
