No, you can be the guinea pig, 27/29 is what I fancied for this one, and that's what I've gone with. I liked the VS800 with slightly less than my normal 30, so trying this the same way.

I have plenty, so might try that later.

Mine doesn't say "Gosen R4X110" every two inches, only every couple of foot? Have you been writing on it?

It's an unfortunate coicidience that so many logos line up so close together when it's in a racket.

Ah, I see every couple of inch when on the racquet, sorry. But I see what you mean about glassy, and it's almost a blue-white colour.

The jury is out at the moment, mmmm, need more time with it I feel.

Feels good, good power, good 'pinging' sound, not sure on the touch feel yet, as played mixed all night (not much net play). But good first impressions, and got the 'feel' of it straight away.

Now, just played another hour with it last night, half court singles etc. and I am now impressed with this string.
Playability good, touch good, feel good and really can put the power through it. As good as BG80 (just as Mark A said) and has quite a unique look to it. Not sure about the tension loss yet, only been strung three days and played for three hours, so the loss seems to have 'happened' and not sure if it will lose much more.

And at this price you cannot go wrong, might be tempted to try this a little tighter again!

Don't heap too much praise on it - it might get back to Gosen and they might jack the price up...

Quick update, now played with this string for a week and had quite a few games with it. Played approx. 14games, mixed and doubles, in the Corporate Games in Liverpool over the weekend.

Played Saturday and noticed that the strings were starting to fray, I just presumed it was a pre-cursor to them breaking in the mixed semis and finals on Sunday. But no, played on Sunday, 5 games, and the strings are still intact.

I am now a officially a fan, and will probably try out a range of tensions, just to find the optimum.

27/29 and happy with it. But I am going to try it a couple of pound less next time, then may try it at 30/31 as Mark A suggested.

Does the repulsion and crispness comparable to NBG98? Or is it more similar towards BG80P?

I've never seen anything like this :P

Could you all help me find some strings to try?
I've recently gotten into stringing and would like some advice.

I've been looking into performance strings, because I only have a reel of Yonex BG65Ti (which I very much love). I thought about buying a reel of Zymax 62... no, Zymax 65, for more durability! or Victor VS850! WHAT ABOUT GOSEN R4X 110?

but yes, I've determined that getting a reel of anything would be too big of a jump for someone who hasn't ever tried these strings! I've actually tried Zymax 67 but it's been such a long time and my exposure to strings wasn't that wide back then.

I am a big fan of BG65Ti, BG80, and BG66UM. BG66UM actually can last 2 months for me, and I string rackets, so I guess the cost is less of a problem.

    My questions are probably

    1) Should I worry about the cost of strings when buying a reel?
    2) Which strings should I try? I would look for any power/repulsion string.
My original plan was to get Gosen R4x 110 and Ashaway 65, but let's have fun.

how do you guys test strings for reelability?
    sorry for the long post

afraid to buy gosen because I feel like I should support the American brand Ashaway :P
