new in this forum and I figured the introduction should be my first post. My Name is Frank, I live and work in Costa Mesa. I started playing badminton during my high school years, mostly in double and mixed. I stop playing close to 10 years ago cause of school and work. I started playing again about a month ago once a week at SGBC. So, I guess you might say I am beginner skillwise. If anyone living in OC or LA area looking for another friend who likes to play badminton, drop me a line. I would like to have more friends who loves to play badminton especially if you can input and improve my skills. haha Frank

No problems, Frank. Welcome to the fraternity. Lots of bizzare as well as docile personalities amongst the BF family here, but all have a common interest in badminton. It's also multi-national! Thus you get to hear from people from all over the globe. Nice place to make friends. Come to think of it, I think I know cheung better than my neighbours!
Hey Frank.... Fellow newbie here... Im Calvin from Fullerton... kinda close I guess... maybe we can play together sometimes... smashingbird - uumm, I doubt I know you so I dont think I am the frank you are talking about. everyone ~ hi and thank you for the welcome. Calvin ~ yeah, I am willing to play at OCBC as long as you would be willing to stay for more than 3-4 hours. OCBC is expensive but I heard its really nice. I just wont go out for two days, that should cover my fee. LOL What time and days do you usually go. I am usually available on sun, mon, and tuesday all day.
Thats great.... I would be more than willing to stay for more than 3-4 hours.... I have school on Mon Wed Fri but get of at 2pm and on Tue and Thu I dont have classes at all. So basically Im free all the time if there is no midterms or assignments. Let me know if you want to get together to play... There is also a spectrum club in Fullerton that has one badminton court. i have never been there but we need a membership, however, we can print a one day guess pass online to try the court out for a day. Frank, If you are willing to drive a bit on Monday's and Wednesday Nights, we play at Mar Vista Recreation Center in West Los Angeles from 7 - 10 pm, the cost is $4 but you are provided with as many feathered shuttles as you can use! There are 3 courts but it is by far the best playing environment, there are people of all levels and it doesnt really get too busy, so if you are free you should stop by, a lot of great and friendly folks. Yes..his serve is definitely illegal as he drives the serve at you....but his line calling is also very questionable too. Just ask WWCbro.
Seems like this "frank" is pretty famous in Canada. Wickedrop - Do you go there and play every monday and wednesday ? Its not as far of a drive so I might be interested in coming. As long as I get a chance to play I am cool. I had an experience with illegal serve when I was in a tournament once. This guy keeps saying I serve illegally. I got so annoyed at him so I switched my serve. My partner and still beat his a$$. LOL
BadFan_OC, Yeah, im there every monday and wednesday, you'll get to play at least 2 -3, sometimes 4 full games of 2 sets. Everyone there is really nice and friendly so you should try to make it. The cost is actually real cheap $4, and you can use as many feathered birds as you want. wickeddrop - I might drop by this monday if I am still in la and not to sore to move. Going to see how much exercise I will get this weekend. cappy75 - lol, maybe he keeps doing it cause he likes the attention. It's no fun playing with a person who cheats though, makes the game uninteresting.
