thats nice mjwhitfieldusually over the net because im fairly tall under the nets a probelm!
short and quick if you don't know them and have lost
strong and smiling with the victory
someone in the county squad sometimes a big handskae something (depends) a hug and its always followed by a anaylis of the game with the top county players usually (the worse ones go away sulking)

Ahh come on, I'm joking. I don't mind how people shake hands, so long as they do. I make it a point to not play with or against people who aren't poilte at the end of a game.

i ALWAYS shakes hands below the net...due to myself being vertically challnged . (im 5.2 or 3) but since most of the people i play in my age group aren't that tall anyways, it works out for every1. but seiously does it really matter?

Try shaking over the net, while using the racquet below to sort of pat the opponent's bottom (!) as done by Sigit during TC 2002 to Chan/Chew, sort of gesturing to them, "You're doing fine lads, keep at it!".

Caution: Do not try this after XD games, especially if the opponent's partner is his or her girlfriend/wife (or boyfriend/husband) ...

i spose it depends on the height of the opponent. it wud be a little unfair to reach over the net and the midget jumping up and down

well most of the time i shake hands over the net but there are the times that i go over to the other side and do it i guess i really only do that if it was a great game, and well if the person is vertically challenged then i will shake under the net.

    Default Above the net!!!

Above the net shows more respect, because it's placed higher. And to really show respect, be the first to attemp to shake hands.

but if its respectful, then wont you both be wanting to get there first and it could end up being like a race.
it would be funny if the badmin match was just a warm up for the handshake race

I pretty much always shake hands over the net because I'm 6'4", I'd probably injure myself if I tried to shake hands under the net .
