If sindhu crosses first hurdle (Sun Yu...), she may encounter Wang Yihan for a possible rematch of world championships . Hmmm.. Let's see whether she does it again..

Boe/Mogensen have a chance to avenge his lost against Lim/Goh at the Malaysia Open.

The draw is really, really tough. I would think the Chinese are doing a lot of homework on Sindhu.

In badminton there is really no time to "ease your way" into a tournament and improve your form as the tournament goes on. You really have to bring your game from point one. If this was tennis, no way we would have these mouth-watering matches in the 1st round. Not an easy task for top seed Li Xuerui going in against Busanan Ongbumrungpan.

Other noteworthy 1st round in WS:

Eriko Hirose vs. [4] Wang Shixian - repeat of 2011 FINAL

Sayaka TAKAHASHI vs. [6] Bae Yeon JU - exciting battle of the lefties

    Juliane Schenk vs. qualifier

Hope Goh/Lim act like tools against europeans like Boe and Morgensen and not just against asians.

That'd be an interesting match... the four of them are all capable of acting like tools to each other.

I hope Goh/Lim get demolished by Boe/Morgensen for the arrogant and obnoxious way they have been behaving.

DPY vs. Rajiv Ouseph will be interesting. Hopefully Porntip has recovered from her injury!

even Boe/Morgensen beat Goh/Lim, they have to cross another MAS Hoon/Tan who beat them in last year China SS at AE 2014 QF...

Only if Hoon/Tan can win 1st round matchup. They don't seem to be in good form recently.

Goh/Lim are young, this is their first title, cut them some slack and kindly hold back from chewing them of. I think they have already stucked a big foot in their mouth, better to stay humble than to up expectation too high. They have not done well in AE before, facing Moe/Boe first round, the Danes are prepared this time for revenge, I bet 2-set straights for the Danes. Then 2-set straights against How/Tan, this is AE in Europe, Moe/Boe are among the favorites to win.

Quick look at MS Qualification I think Darren Liew vs Wei Nan will be an interesting match.

Wei pushed Chen Long very close in Malaysia recently (21-29, 18-21, 22-24)

Also Vladimir Ivanov vs Gao Huan. Ivanov is one of the most improved mens players in the last 12 months for me.

Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan almost made it into the qualifying rounds off of the reserve list. Looks like they just barely missed out.

What's the latest on Lee CW's left ankle injury? However slight the injury, if he's not 100% fit, would he withdraw from the AE and just make his appearance for the promotional activities to avoid the BWF USD5K fine?
