I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do but can't find a thread bout this(prolly didn't look hard enough) and so its been a month now since I stringed my rackets and I noticed that the strings on my iSlash moves a lot more compared to my VT88. Is this normal? They are both stringed at 24lbs. iSlash have pink 65ti and VT88 have nbg95 is that helps. its been going on for a while now I thought it was normal at first but its been like this since I re stringed it. oh and I play for a bout 2-4 hours a day for 5 days straight with breaks if that helps also. thank you very much!! - Dan
Anything guys to why this is happening? Is it really like this when its new? Why does my vt88 strings move less?? Any kind of reply would be really appreciated.
Nbg 95 is thinner by 0.1mm and you might have used a racquet More then the other. Tension drops fast on 65 ti
are they strung by the same stringer? bg65ti loses tension more than nbg95. so likely by the time you played with it, bg65ti will be looser which means it is more likely to move around. bg65ti also has a smoother coating than nbg95. which also contributes to string movement. i wouldn't worry about string movement too much though. just straighten them up and enjoy your badminton!
They're stringed by the same person at the same time at 24lbs. I use the VT88 prolly 6:4 of the time than the iSlash.
Fresh strings move more than ones that have been played in, and slippery strings move more than grippy ones. But all strings move to some degree - no cause for concern at all (as long as they were pulled straight by the stringer).
I have encountered some situations where players complain that their strings do move. Even at international level stringing at over 30lbs, the pros still need to readjust their strings during competition! So movement of strings is very normal and just need you to readjust them before continuing play.
Yea movement of strings is very common, especially if you're doing a lot of shots like slicing etc or if you mis hit a lot Broken in strings won't move as much as you'll be able to see some wear from where the cross and main strings meet, this wear in the string keeps the string in position and when it has moved you'll notice it's very easy to just put it back into position as the mains have made a "mark" in the crosses!
