How do you cut the correct taper to the correct length, and how do you get a neat finish? I find that I sometimes end up using too much narrow (electrician's insulating) tape afterwards, to cover up unevenness or mistakes.
I was wondering the same too. Maybe out of topic but I can't even do the way LCW grips his rackets neatly. Mine always comes ups with folds. So frustrating
I've just been reading the interesting "show us pictures of how you grip your rackets" discussion and I have learned the idea of starting with the untapered grip at the butt end, so you can use the taper and the sticky section at the cone end to make a neat finish. I also read that you need to overlap considerably to do this, as otherwise you won't get to the tapered section by the time you reach the cone. I've also learned that Lee Chong Wei's grips (which look super-nice) are not overlapped at all (but they finish very neatly). Can anyone talk about how to reconcile these two different approaches?
