    3. METHOD OF COMPETITION

    3.4 Final stage format

    3.4.3 For 2004*., if the trophy holder is the same as the host Member Association, then the additional place in the Thomas Cup shall be allocated to a team from an association who is a member of ABC, and the additional place in the Uber Cup shall be allocated to a team from an association who is a member of EBU.

    *Work is proceeding to determine the future allocation process for 2006 onwards.

    REMEDY AS FOLLOWS:

    3.4.3 If the trophy holder is the same as the host Member Association, then the additional place in the Thomas or Uber Cup shall be allocated to the team which be Runner-up in the last competition.

    3.4 Final stage format
    3.4.1 The final stage shall be contested by 12 teams which includes the trophy holder, the host Member Association and, in addition, a minimum of one team from each Continental Confederation.

    3.4.2 For 2004*., the remaining five places shall be allocated as follows:

    Thomas Cup
    Three places to teams from associations who are members of ABC
    Two places to teams from associations who are members of EBU

    Uber Cup
    Three places to teams from associations who are members of ABC
    Two places to teams from associations who are members of EBU

    3.4.3 For 2004*., if the trophy holder is the same as the host Member Association, then the additional place in the Thomas Cup shall be allocated to a team from an association who is a member of ABC, and the additional place in the Uber Cup shall be allocated to a team from an association who is a member of EBU.

    3.4.2 The remaining seven places shall be allocated as follows:

    According to the number of the team from each continental confederation in the top seven* of the last competitions, allocate these PLACES to these continental confederation respectively.

    * Need to add the play-off for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th place in T&U Cups finals.
