It's probably because Victor don't have a fabricator in Europe. If they did, even if only for clothing... ye gods, that'd open some doors.

Maybe so. The big issue in UK is the lack of demand with so many club players now wearing what they like. Standards have slipped considerably and players are not as bothered about wearing badminton brands.

Can any owners weigh one of their SH-LYD? Much has been made of its lightness on the Victor global site... interested to see just how light they are.

Mine are arriving in 2 weeks if you can wait!

But obviously weight varies with shoe size so would need to compare against the same size shoes...

Well, mine are EU 43/275 with stock insoles.

Oh the LYDs are really light. Just got the pink pair. Weight wise I would say 8500 > 9000ACE > LYD. Cushion 9000ACE > 8500 > LYD. The cushion is really thick and very comfortable. I can land very comfortably even from hard landings. My only gripe is that the the shoe lips have abraded my ankles just in front of the inner side of my ankle bones. Not sure how I'm going to counter this issue. Hard to tell if it's just because the design doesn't fit my feet or it need a break in period.

I weighed mine without any insoles, I should add - I wanted to compare them to my SH9000, whose stock insoles went right in the bin.

Doesn't that mean LYD cushion is thin?

Not even close. It's fat as fell and I love it think of it as a further development of the SH8500 but light and more cushiony

Have you tried the 9100? How does it compare?

I did try them at the shop. Really good cushion too. Same tech as the LYD but with more of the 9000ACE feel. Cushion for me was LYD > 9100 > 8500 > 9000

Tks, as I have 9100 and had 9000, and feel 9100 has better cushioning too.
