I'm a recreational player, rely more on accuracy and deception than smashing, like to play drop shots and play at the net.

I like my Karakal BN-60 racket, but I had it strung with Yonex BG 68 titanium at 22 lbs, and I find the bounce can be quite unpredictable, specially on softer shots.

What kind of strings at what tension might suit my game better?

Thinner rough strings and higher tensions are better for control. For you, perhaps zm65 or vs850 at 22 lbs.

BG85 is lovely for control, IMHO. Ditto for Zymax 62. (yes visor, even for plastic ;))

I played my first games last night with a new Yonex FB, strung with zm65 at 22lbs as suggested by Visor. It was fantastic! I surprised myself as well as the opponents with the shots I played and succeeded with, I felt far more in control. I can't tell how much the racquet was responsible and how much it was the strings, but I am a very happy player and looking forward to a longer session against stiffer competition this evening.

    Thanks Visor!

The best strings for transitional net play are BG66 Ultimax and VS850.
