This might not make too much sense, but just wondering if anyone has similar experience.

Personally, seems string on my ISO rackets break much faster than the ones on Oval ones (say, about 50%). Since I do string myself, I am pretty sure it's not the material (same batch) or the technique (same person, as myself) or tension (most around 23-25 lb range).

Wondering if anyone else have similar experience.

I agree with you buddy. i had the same experience as well with it. I think the tension is much higher when you hit it with an Iso frame than a Oval one.

    here is a guess.

an Iso frame has a more square shape, and generally larger head. thus, the average length of strings on a Iso frame is longer. longer strings means that there are more leverage for the strings to move around, and as a result, the strings get rubbed more often and strings break easier.

It make sense.. but it looked like Ovals strings are little longer than Isos.

On a similar line of thought, iso have bigger sweet spot which subject to more stretching and movmenet due to repulsion action. On oval, if u miss the smaller sweet spot, the dead feel mean the strings didnt work (stretch and move) as much, therefore less wears.

So, in order to save some string :p we should use oval though :D
That sounds like driving a honda civic and a honda accord. Civic is more gas saving. :)

So, my guess was not totally non-sense... It's true that for various reasons, string on my ISO rackets tend to move much more than the ones on Oval ones.

No wonder Yonex new models are most ISO head, they can boost up their string sells as well. :D

and I am currently moving from ISO-> CAB :) and I guess saving strings is another plus on this then! :D

(and CABs are usually cheaper than ISOs; I don't know why :))
