LOL, you got 6 toes?Originally posted by odjn
Wow when are these comming out? I sure want to get them right on the day they come out. I'll be camping out at my local badminton store
My old badminton shoes are starting to wear out. I have like 6 holes in my shoes, that came from running around to much whiched caused a lot of friction on the ground, resuliting in my shoes catching on fire.

Are you sure this will be released?
Look at the updates for the 89 mens and ladies from Ants original post in another thread, I would think they are more likely to be released than the style concious ones above.
They do look a bit bulky!

According to Yonex USA, the shoes be available in mid April. I believe Yonex Canada will also carry this shoes. The shoe is not bulky at all, it just that I have poor picture.
From my obsevation, Yonex produce 3 level of shoes, Asia (except Japan), Japan and Europe/ America. I think the SHB 89 F is just for the Japan market only because they are a 3E width shoes which is too wide for most Europe or America palyers. Also I am not sure Asia and Europe/America consumers will be willing to pay $100 US for a pair of badminton shoe.

The top price I have seen Yonex shoes for in the UK is £60 and it was the SHB95

Yep; previously I bought a pair for £60, but now they seem to retail at about £45.

I'm think Yonex Canada carries those shoes now because the Yonex dealer at my had samples of all the new shoes including the SHB 98 and SHB 89 new colour, etc.

yonex canada usually get production samples for promo and for showing to retail stores. It is when the stores start ordering and stocking them that we consumers get to see them. Mu guess is probably late april to early may.

By the way, it looks like a Nike Air Max.
You should wear a yellow one. It will go well with your 'banana' racket

those shoes look really heavy. i can't imagine moving swiftly and smoothly around the court with those. i got some "heavier" shoes when i switched to SHB-55HS. They felt heavier than my blue yonex ones (i can't remember the the style number/name); those were so light and comfortable. The first couple of days playing with the SHB-55HS I kept accidently kicking my shins when I would backup and kick into my shots. It was quite embarrasing. I looked like a rookie. And I always did it in the same spot so I had this bruise that kept getting darker. But after the first couple of weeks I stopped doing it. Haven't done it since.
If I got those shoes I'd probably have bruises that would consumer my whole leg
Besides, I think they're ugly! Well, they're not ugly, they just look like basketball shoes.

They just look like a sop to popular taste; but who is going to wear badminton shoes outside? I think Yonex should concentrate on making more shoes like the SHB89, which are great, but they cause very bad blisters once the insoles are worn.
