Sindhu (IND) MD - Goh V Shem/Lim Khim Wah (MAS) WD - Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth/Rizki Amelia Pradipta (INA) XD - Praveen Jordan/Vita Marissa (INA) This fully-packed GP Gold tournament is already begun (09.00am local time) to stage qualifying round for 4 disciplines. Both former WJC Nozomi Okuhara and 2011 WChamp silver medalist Cheng Shao Chieh are expected to secure main draw slots. Only two defending champions Yunus and home pair Goh/Lim will retain their titles here so certainly we'll see three new winners to crown MAS GPG title on Sunday's finale.
is there any cheap hostel to stay near to the venue maybe around 10-20 USD/ night ? i would love to come visit and watch some good match form QF to SF or F thanks in advance
I really don't see the point of pairing up Li Gen with Liu Cheng...Liu Cheng has a stable partnership with Kang Jun anyways and Li Gen is...well...
Liu Cheng (and Zhang Nan) has been the de-facto partner for Li Gen for quite some time now. Too bad, they lost again (this time in qualifiers).
There are many INA representatives in Johor Bahru this week, some from Pelatnas and some independent players. It will be tough for Alamsyah Yunus to retain his title, but there is also Simon Santoso competing for the first time since turning independent. Simon is expected to face Xue Song (another title contender) as early as R16 (tomorrow).
The inevitable question: Are Wednesday's games going to be broadcast anywhere on the internet? (It may be 30 deg in KL, but here we're awaiting a blizzard. Good day to stay in and watch baddy!)
Today's order of play (09.00am, 4 courts) : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...045CBE-EAA1-4CCD-BE58-F1F9C13007D7&d=20140326 Fourth seed Hsu Jen Hao got first round casualty, def. by Thai MS Thammasin Sitthikom.
Another surprising exit, 5th seed reigning World Jr Champ Li JH/Liu YC lost to INA MD Juang/Ulinnuha, 18-21 / 15-21.
Nice to see the Djarum pair Didit Juang/Mohd Ulinnuha progressing to the next round. IMHO, Ulin is still a good talent and I will like to see him really settling into his partnership with Didit (whose ex-partner Praveen Jordan joined Pelatnas this year). Didit/Ulin are likely to face another CHN pair Zhang Wen/Wang Yilv (the winner of China IC 2014) for a place in the last 8. Meanwhile, Fran Kurniawan/Bona Septano are expected to at least reach the last 8.
Only 2 of 7 INA WS who can pass first round, Firda and Febe will get tough opponent next, Yui Hashimoto and most likely Deng Xuan.

Another upset, this time it's Tanongsak, the MS 1st seed, who got knocked out by Arif Abdul Latif of MAS. Too bad, no livestream available yet.
