So the other day I was playing badminton and my opponent lifts so I go for a smash, but suddenly I shuttlecock with the frame of my racket (z-speed) and then this continues to happen throughout the day,up until I find a racket with a really soft cushioned grip(ashaway dynamic something) and then I was surprisingly able to smash well.I am not sure what the problem may be ,maybe the grip? or maybe the smaller frame on my zspeed?

It might be timin issues , you need to time your swing correctly to hit the shuttle, you can slow down your swing and do clears for a little while and then increase speed as you go! As for me I never have timing issues it's really hard for me to understand how people can time things wrong :0
