Since I suspected that the cone of my ZF2 is tilt. I claimed warranty, and this is the outcome. http://postimg.org/image/7gy9zdb65/ To be brief, Yonex Taiwan thinks it's only a bad paint. They are not willing to make it up. Below is my measurement http://postimg.org/image/p36545j9p/ http://postimg.org/image/d1cz62xvx/ http://postimg.org/image/7wiqjvbv1/ http://postimg.org/image/njd4vzqpz/ There's definitely "NO" such thing as cone tilt.
The handle is ok. Handle is perfectly horizontal with the frame. The cone is tilt and there is an angle between the cone and horizon.
What's worse is that they don't even provide contact info on their wed site. I can't even contact this company to illustrate this problem. I got their Phone number by checking on some HR websites. I really wanna say: What's wrong with this company.
In the case of Yonex Asia, they hide behind their dealers whenever there's a service or quality issue. I suggest you write in to the Japanese office directly. http://www.yonex.co.jp/ask.html On that page, the first of the three green bars is a link for matters related to after-sales service. In case you want to call them (the Tokyo office) from abroad, dial +81-3-3836-1221.
Thanks, I had claimed warranty and Yonex tw turned me down. I'm going lawful way tomorrow. I've had enough of this company.
It's a big deal for those who grip at the cone area. It's very annoying to have a tilt cone to hold. It can distort some angle of my shots.
Agree, a misaligned cone is quite annoying and can mess up your low serve when you're trying to serve so tight to the net. Let us know how you get on with getting a replacement.
I'll send my ZF2 in to get rid of a little cracking noise (when the shaft bends) at the cone and will tell you how it went if you want. Imho everything that affects general playability is a solid reason to claim for warranty.
Strange. So the handle and frame head are aligned, but the cone in between is off... never seen that before.
OP, use a heat gun and lose up the glue on the cone on your ZF II Check if the cone area of the wooden handle is sanded properly... I suspect the handle sanding may have not been even which cause the cone not to be straight with the handle and the shaft.. This might be common issue as a defective handle sanding might be overlooked by workers in a mass production facility. **THIS also showcase how crap Yonex's Quality Assurance has gone to the toilet in the recent years**** If the handle sanding is fine after you took the cone off, then simply rotate the cone and superglue it back onto the wooden handle. Problem solved.
Well, he did NOT pay good money to buy a racquet and then perform repairs. He is entitled to a racquet free of any manufacturing or workmanship defects. Imagine buying a new car.... and the steering wheel is tilted a wee-wee-wee-bit to the left. It isn't dangerous or risky to drive it... but it is still deficient and feels deficient.
Indeed, but from my past experiences with Yonex TW, SP warranty is pretty bad... The only decent Yonex regional warranty I have experience with are Yonex Canada and US. But as stated by the OP, Yonex already rejected his claim for the racket. I highly doubt calling Yonex JP head office would make a difference as that Tokyo office is not responsible for Yonex product distributed outside of Japan. I just provide the worst case scenario of Do it yourself method if all fails. ***ON A SIDE NOTE: I contacted Yonex via email (there are no regional Yonex phone #s I could find on the net) about 2 rackets last year with attached photos, first if my Arc11 (CD coded) with completely offset graphic decal on the shaft and the head, the stickers on the racket is not aligned properly, and the second racket is my Voltric Z-Force (US coded) with a very crackling shaft and cone joint, and lightly swinging it will make loud crackling noises.. Well, the email response took Yonex 3 freaking months to reply, and asking for more photos of the 2 rackets. I did send the photos of the rackets, and took Yonex another 4 months to get back to me saying there is NOTHING they can do... If you are going to contact Yonex by yourself, then TOUGH LUCK.... It is MUCH MUCH better and has HIGHER SUCCESS warranty claim if you bought your Yonex racket from a PLATINUM YONEX DEALER, and claiming the warranty from the Platinum Yonex Dealer... I have claimed a CD coded Yonex Arc Z Slash last year from MaxSports in Toronto, and it was a SUCCESS... The funny thing is that the frame was broken from a small micro crack from probably hitting the floor when defending a smash, and when it was restrung, after using for a few times, the frame just broke. Yet, through the Platinum Dealer, Yonex still honored the warranty and got a brand spanking new replacement of the Z Slash for me. ***Though Yonex did state that the replacement is the ONLY replacement they will do with this racket. If the replacement Z-Slash is broken, they will NOT be replacing it anymore.***
That is total BS. It shouldn't prolong your original warranty period but it should not void it either.
What about this Arc11 offset decal? i have one and it didnt occur to me that it was off (reference to the word arcsabre on the shaft) not a biggie for me though although i can imagine that being annoying
That doesn't affect playability though, that's only aesthetics. The misaligned cone however can be uncomfortable to hold for those that grip that racket there for serves and whatnot.
I just got my Arc11 and it looks great. Haven't test it yet though. I bought it from Japan. Do you think the JP version is better than SP version? OR just the same quality?
