Just thinking out loud - I know there are many things to consider (play level, organizing, $$, time, blabla) Would you sign up for any categories if there were a BC Cup, say, organized where the organizer / sponsors are? What would make you think twice or not participate? 6 hours flight to US? Low $$ price? etc ?
Anything is possible. Check out the Morning Cup in Taiwan. If a BC Cup were happening in Singapore or Indonesia, I bet it would attract a large crowd. But given the BWF's maze of rules and regulations, hosting a recognised event would be a nightmare.
maybe start the tournament in each of the country, select maybe 4 pairs of double, 4 single, etc... to continue with the grand tournament in US?? I would love to join if there's a BC close tournament hehehe
I would participate in men doubles not participate because: 24 hours of flying from Indonesia to the USA, 24 hours of flying, you know it will cost me a fortune to go there USA Visa that can take up to 6 months to complete (IMO, USA visa is the hardest one to get out of all)
It would be wonderful if we all could meet and play, but unfortunately (although I suppose it's also a great pleasure) BC members come from every corner of the globe. I'd be down to play if it didn't cost me a plane ticket
for start to be able to hold it on respective countries would be good enough. or better regional. I don't mind travelling to neighbouring countries for it. to US, maybe not.....
I don't mind participating in a local BC Cup or a neighbouring country BC Cup. I will think very long about travelling to US though. Read several horror experiences of people travelling to the US and some of my friends' first hand experience on travelling to US really make me shudder. Cost is another concern and the length of the flight.
A BC regional tournament then... YEAAHHH!!! Not that I have a very high chance get pass the first few rounds...
