Hey guys, I think this Arc 11 is fake : http://www.ebay.com/itm/400683458682?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT However, I am relatively poor and I am curious that did anyone tried a Grade A racquet and how bad is it compared to a genuine one? This is because I am fairly a newbie and if there isn't much difference, I would like to give it a try. Please share your experience and comments. Thank you!
It definitely looks fake, in my experience the few fake yonex rackets I have seen weren't very good quality. You would be better buying a clone racket such as Apacs which would be better quality for the same price. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Tennis-Racquet-Sports-/159134/i.html?redirect=mobile&_nkw=Apacs
Hi Dave! May I know what is the difference between clone and fake rackets? How do you search for them on Ebay? Thank you!
clone are rackets made by another manufacture that are (meant to be) very similar to e.g. yonex, but do not pretend to be yonex brand. fakes pretend to be yonex (or li ning etc...), but are not. search ebay for 'apacs'.
I added a link on my last comment to Apacs rackets on eBay. Apacs are probably the best rackets available for the price of a fake Yonex.
Hey Amleto, Decoy and Dave, thanks for the response!I tried googling but to no avail. What is the closest match of Arc 11 for clone rackets? Thank you!
I don't think they do an arc 11 equivalent yet but they do an edgesaber 10 which is a clone of arc 10. See the link below. http://www.badmintonbay.com/Apacs-EdgeSaber-10-Red.html
you understand that most clones are just cloning the paint job and even if they try, they are just copy the balance point and weight, but that's only like 1/2 of how a racket actually play?
Yes as kwun says they won't be as good as a genuine yonex racket but still a step up from a fake yonex racket in my opinion.
a racket is not a handbag. a handbag is 90% look and show and 10% utility. a racket is 90% utility and 10% look (if even that!) so don't get things mixed up.
I presume a clone will use better materials and less likely to break compared to a fake ? And the clones different models do have different characteristics like they say?
Ya the clones are their own racquets and can't really be likened to their yonex counterparts always. I've seen flashboost clones (not fakes) that were 3u.
Ya but this one is marketed to the public as a 3u. I didn't mean it as a poor QC thing I meant the clone doesn't even come in the 5u weight.
This is a healthy discussion! So, what would you recommend guys? Is it always a bad decision to consider clone/fake? I am looking for alternatives for arcsaber 11. Thank you!
Clones certainly have great value for money. You won't really find a good arc 11 alternative unless you buy an arc 11 or arc 10. Depends what you're willing to spend but you could probably be an arcsaber 10 second hand for like $100.
you don't even know if they telling you the truth or now (if it is a grade A racket)IMO, grade A, B, C are all BSI can get it for 13-14USD for fake racket here in China (even less than that, like 9USD, or even 5USD)http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm...htm?spm=a230r.1.14.65.uOjS23&id=37963284410it is better to buy apacs since they are real company and have real responsibility to make their brand names looks good (that means they won't be doing too many dodgy things)
sorry for the bad link: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.65.uOjS23&id=37963284410 http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.130.uOjS23&id=20741547314
