Why do I feel that clearing with plastic is so much harder than feathered? I can effortlessly forehand clear from back alley to back alley but when I switch to plastic, it takes a significant amount of energy to clear the same distance. I also can only backhand clear half court when I use plastic but can do a full court with feathered....Am I supposed to swing sooner? Is the plastic bird dropping through the air at a faster rate? I find that my smashes are also relatively more flat in comparison to my smashes with feathered...I've been training with feathered for 3 years and only use plastic during high school play...Tim
You need 2 lbs lower tension for plastic compared to feather birds Otherwise you'll have less power and kill yourself trying to clear baseline to baseline
yep, plastic requires longer contact time on the stringbed for complete energy transfer... which is achieved by lower tension
did u check speed of bird ? For Yonex plastic, green = slow, blue = medium, red = fast. My experience plastic mediums are like bullets when smashing...
