i bought a ti-10 with a bg80 strung at 22 lbs. however now the string tension is about at 17 and feels really slow and sluggish. can you guys advice me what string to use at what tension to get the optimal power out of my ti-10. my skill level is intermediate. i play in high school varsity. with the current string, i can control my racquet pretty well but i have problems with power.
hey, i have a ti10 strung with bg80 at 22~23 lbs and i have no problems with power. i'm quite skinny and yet i can produce thundering smashes with this combo. perhaps its just time for a new stringing? since u say it feels like 17 lbs. bear in mind that power decreases as you go to higher tensions of 25lbs and above.

well, i used my friends ti10 who just got it strung with bg65 at 23lbs and i felt much more power in my smashes. so i am going to get it restrung anyways so any ideas what string should i use?
Well if it feels like u get a lotta power from your friend's racket, why dont u jus use the same strings wif the same tension?
Remember that string does not produce power; your swing does. Work on your clears until you can consistently hit baseline to baseline. Hit them as high as you can to work on the power. Regardless of what racket or string, you should be able to do this, the difference is between different equipment is only that it feels easier on some than others. As for the string...17 lbs may be on the low side. Personally, I've stuck with BG65 for as long as I've played. 23 lbs should be about right for BG65. On my Ti 7, 23lbs dropped to around 21 over 6 months, so you might even go for 24lbs. I only string at higher tension so that the string has more "feel"; i don't think it gives much more power. I recalled that in the my earlier days of badminton with my Ti 7 strung at 22lbs, the main string tends to break a lot from off center hits(ie: near the frame). So if you are not hitting the shuttle on at the center, you're better off staying away from too high a tension.
so anyone used sheep gut string? i am going to asby's today to get it restrung at about 23lbs. so what string should i use
