It's not written in stone. LCW's form sometimes tends to take a dip mid-season. Besides, some of the other players will be equally motivated if not more.

On paper, Saina and Sindhu should get gold and silver by virtue of being the top 2 seeds in all likelihood. However, Kirsty Gilmour has played Sindhu back in the French Open 2013, and won in 3 sets. Jing Yi Tee is another shuttler to watch out for. I foresee Saina earning a medal (if she's in form and fit as well) but as for Sindhu, it's doubtful.

^ Sindhu showed some exceptional fighting spirit in the recently concluded UC, as well as a more aggressive style of play. I don't think we can totally discount her in the race for the gold.

Trinidad & Tobago isn't sending us (badminton) to Commonwealth Games again this time =( I can't help but feel disappointed about their decision but they wouldn't change their view or position on it, oh well.

Oh...they should atleast send their teams to for the competitions whatever the result will be....the players atheist will gain some experience!!! Badminton in CWG has never been the first level sport just because it has never been so competitive..but this time it will be more competitive then ever..

It is sad, I've been training the past 4 years (as well have the other players that were selected to go) for the games and then to just get axed but oh well. They only told us 3 weeks ago after our national championships. The justification was that we wouldn't be able to medal at the games so it was not worth it to send us, that they team isn't strong enough and doesn't have much international competition.
