Anybody seen Rocky 4? You know when the Russian dude fights Apalo Creed. The ring rises and Apalo does that huge musical number "living in America."

Dream of the day when I can see a badminton match start like that XD

It shouldn't be part of any sport, badminton at least.

What are you talking about? It gives the sport character and attraction! Could you imagine Lin Dan coming up on an elevating court like that with LCW waiting for him? It would be awesome!

At the AE, when LCW is introduced while walking to court side, I love it when the announcer announces his name wrestling style...
    LEEEEEEEE CHONNNNNNG WEIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

And I believe, recently at the AE, they had a rotating stage to reveal the players when their names were announced.

Yeah, they did. But I mean, I want the court to elevate out if the ground, you know? With lights and fireworks and national pride. I love it :p

If you want to see fancy entrance of entertainers, go to watch concerts or WWF. Sports don't need sideshows which overshadow the athletes.

Prince Naseem. Used to love watching him. Such flair for showmanship.

Au contraire. I think there is a place for such razz-ma-tazz. As long it's done fairly tastefully and not over the top. The Rocky 4 example was pure Hollywood–ain't gonna happen in any sport.

The point though is if BWF can garnish ideas to promote the players and sport, it's better than most of the efforts currently displayed.

Yeah! Lots of flash and dash. Too bad he couldn't sustain a meaningful career
