Hi all ! I am using Lining windstorm 680. It is 78 to 80g. I play with feathers. My preferred tension is 25 by 25. Can anybody suggest a good string for my racket ?
Thanks for the reply. As bg66 um have a very poor durability, how can it be compared with Nbg95 ? Or you still prefer to go for Bg66um ?
nbg95 being so thick is good for plastic shuttles, not feathers zymax 65 is quite durable or nbg98 is good too, but quite slippery so control is only so-so
I was using Arcsaber 6 and have tried the following strings Nanogy 99 White 25 by 25 - Really very superb control. All my drop shots were accurate but not good for back to back clear and also for smash BG 80 Power 25 by 25 White - Not as powerful as it used to be in my other racket ( Slightly head heavy and weighs 81-84g ). BG80 Green 26 by 26 - I strung this because of the feedback from the other users. But for light rackets, this string felt really numb. The feel was good as it was very hard. Zymax 65 23 by 23 Red - Right from the first day, it felt numb and didn't liked it BG65 26 by 26 White - Very good only for few days and it became numb. Now I changed to Lining Windstorm 680( 78 - 80g) which as a racket very good compared with Arcsaber 6 for me. I strung Bg80 power white 25 by 25 but not getting the power ( with the same tension same stringer of my other racket ) I love this racket and only correct string matters to my light weight Lining 680 and that's the reason I am asking for suggestions. Thanks for helping
zymax 65 at 23 lbs... ? no wonder it was numb... you need 26-27 lbs for it for power and feel vs850 is also good for power and feel, try 26 lbs
@ India - Zymax 65 is not easily available and also the vs850. Yonex Strings are very popular here.Only very very few shops have got victor rackets. I will try to buy Vs850 but is it same as nanogy 99 as this string is purely for control ? How about the power, back to back clear and durability of vs850 ? Also is it good for lighter rackets ? Thanks
Totally confused now to choose between nbg98 and bg66um. Stringer suggests not to go for bg66um. Though a good string, a single mishit string is gone. On the other hand, nbg98 is good for tension greater than 26 lbs. My racket max tension is 26 lbs. It is very very difficult and confused to choose the right string for my lighter racket
Nah, 26 lbs is fine for nbg98. What Yonex string did your stringer suggest that is good for repulsion?
@ visor Stringer says that for light weight rackets we will get a less power feel but it is not acutally so and once we get used to it, it will be good. It is my call to choose the string and can I go blindly go with your suggestion of nbg98 this time or can I play with already strung BG80P for sometime ? dollargood I tried BG80 and BG65 in my old arcsaber 6 and it is not effective. From the strings I tried in light weight rackets, BG80 Power is better but not the best.
All I need is a string which helps me back to back clears effortlessly and also for smashes. Nanogy 98 is good as you are experienced and suggest that and so I blindly go by your word. I tried Nanogy99 earlier which felt little bit numb feel but it was awesome for control.
Yeah, trust me, if you can't get your max power from NBG98, then you'll need to change your racket or your swing.
you should be able to hit from baseline to baseline on a clear shot effortlessly regardless of what string you hit with. changing tension might allow you to notice the difference in pace of shuttle but change in string shouldn't make a huge difference. i say the swing!
