I was going to get these because they were on sale at my local sporting goods store. I ultimately decided not to because the didn't look like they were really supportive. I ordered the yonex shb-98's instead.

Man, the shoe is ugly! I can't believe Hi-Tec is getting worse. I had a pair of their squash shoes and it was better looking than this attempt at the baddy market:(.

the logo certainly looks like hi-tec. but the design and quality looks aweful! look at that attempt to make better cushion from just cutting away some hole at the heel!

are they just knock off or made by the cheapo division of hi-tec?

Wow...didn't expect those responses. I didn't think that they looked that bad aesthetically. I didn't like the functional quality of them though. They were cheap though, $35.
I don't think they were knock offs since they were selling the higher priced models of hitec also.

I'd have to agree with cappy and kwun. Not only does the shoe looks very low end, it also looks very low-tec (pun intended). They almost look like they were designed during the early 80's or something!

They look like an attempted clone of the more basic models of Addidas and Reebok, probably an attempt at a "fasion" trainer, not a functional one!

this is definitely no actual hi-tec badminton shoe! " see on www.hi-tec.com "
maybe this is a sort of "heritage model"...

by the way i bought a hi-tec elite 500 and this is a wonderful shoe - better cushioning and protection than yonex.
