Michelle proving her beating Sindhu twice in a row within two weeks is certainly no fluke but evident of her class. We might just see Michelle rise in the top 10 soon.

In the Americas, I'd expect the rivalry between Michelle Li and Zhang Beiwen to intensify going forward, both are rising at the same time.

I hope Derek doesn't needlessly give himself too much pressure, simply let go and enjoy himself afterwards - he's the underdog and has already exceeded our expectations, nothing to lose, just go for it, throw caution to the wind, and, who knows, he might just be able to play above himself.

Kashyap is the much more experienced, mature player who has been to the big stage such as the Olympics and WCs QFs, if I'm not wrong - he can handle the pressure better and knows how to deal with the occasion, the advantage is clearly with him.

Derek has to rise to the occasion to beat him. Let's see how it goes. He should be telling himself, "With silver already assured at least, what's there to worry about? Just go and do it!"

Well, luck of the draw decides whether you get gold or bronze for the top contenders, silver is not in the equation; to make it worse, sometimes even bronze is denied you in the playoff if you're not in the right state of mind. Yes, competitive sport is cruel, isn't it. But, that's life.

    Agree wholeheartedly!

Enjoy yourself Derek. You already got the silver against all odds!

MAS must be sorely missing LCW while IND, Saina - for the individuals, that is.

Yup, TV replay shows Kashyap's racquet was over the net before the shuttle came across.

Derek is not comfortable defending , but he has to construct the rally before seizing the attack.

Clearly, PK is unwilling to lift to Derek.
