Last week a friend brought a FAKE ARMORTEC 700 to the gym and we did a visual and feel comparison. Fake : lighter, less head heavy, longer, much much cheaper... I tested the Fake AT 700 (BG 66 - 23/24 lbs) for 30 mins. Conclusion : better control and power than my expensive real AT700 (US$199). It took me 4 sessions to get use to the length and timing right. But with the Fake AT700, just one game and I can feel the improved feel and control. The less head heavy is perfect for my "fake" shots. Control is awesome. My friend told me he ended up paying US$75 for it. It has PBSI logo and no serial number. SP version. I wanted to buy one if I can. But he is not selling. I was just wondering if anyone know where to get it. fell in love with a fake. sorry but true.....
Hi Krismash, If you saw the PBSI logo on it, it means that you should look for this racket in Indonesia. But, as I know perfectly that there is no racket manufacture in Indonesia. Probably this racket come from another country. I have heard that come from Taiwan. But I have a friend who bought a racket with PBSI logo in India.
there are 2 sources of fake armortecs. china and taiwan. price should be around us$40 (taiwan) and us$25 (china) if bought in manila. all i can say is the taiwan made is 95% like the original. i already put my orig at500 (4UG4) in my bag as i really like using the fake (85g). people who bought from me are very satisfied with their rackets.
It's more than that. Fakes are counterfeits and illegal. This is where the manufacturer actually copy the Yonex racquet in all details and try to pass them off as the geniune item. You have no recourse if there are defects but given the low price, maybe that isn't an issue. Just my 2 cents worth.
95% is quite good. How do we (from U.S.) go about getting one of those AT 700? How much is the total cost including shipping and taxes (if any) ? Is there any discount for 5 or more rackets? Just called my friends, I think I can get an order for 5 if the price is right. Does it include BG66 at our desired tensions? Please let me know as soon as you can. Thank you.
i think fake racket makers only concentrate on the exterior look. It is much more time consuming (ie more expensive) trying to copy the performance of the original. If the buyer like the fake better, that mean the buyer bought the original racket not on performance basis but rather for other reasons The head heavier AT700 and 500 weren't meant for them in the first place.
Didnt someone posted in BF having for sale two fake AT700 (amortec/armorace ??). He was selling because he didnt like it.
Performance + Feel = confidence It is a matter of performance and feel. The head heavy of the fake AT700 is there. I own the original AT700 and I went through a lot to get used to it. The Fake has slightly less than the original but still more than the other rakets I tried. Not interested with the look of it. But ... purely on the feel of it. Knowing the it is less than half the price of the original... I can probably swing away and go for shots that might clash or hitting the racket to the ground. In other words.... no reservations An all out play. The extra confidence is great. I would be lying if the exterior does not pleased me.. It does and the performance and feel makes it just great. My concern would be if it is not consistent with individual racket they make..?
if that fake racket has its own merits why dont the maker come up with their own design instead of resorting to copying/faking another brand?
Short cut to success. It is a great question Cooler. Like I said, I guess the exterior makes a lot of difference too. Just like us, we are always attracted to the looks first ... before the personality shines.... and we marry them... hopefully it does not end with a clash or breakage.. like a cheap fake racket... but you are right... they could .. but.. very expensive..maybe..
hi ive read about these "fake racquets" and i would like to buy a few of them to see how they really are. i live in the u.s. but i have a lot of family in the p.i. mainly in manila...i was wondering if one could direct me toward where i culd tell my family to buy some for me? also...how much do u think shipping would be? and also prices u think?
Basically all the fakes racket is around the same in terms of performance.. just that the paint job is different.
i dont think there are any good fake racquets or else why the fake makers hide behind some other real brand(s). When u buy fake, u dunno who stands behind their products, therefore, they dump their marketing expense and warranty issues onto some other manufacturers. At least cloners have a brand name behind them.
of course they perform the same, 99% of fakes prolly made from the same manufacturer and from the same mould, and the same workers. Ants, how the heck fakes have different paint job? what is the point of faking a real yonex red mp100 by painting them pink, lime, silver or even different shade of reds?
cough. language. language... i think what ants means is that all the MP100, MP99, MP77 fakes are all the same, except they paint them differently to imitate the red MP100, the yellow MP77, and the grey MP77.
Kwun, I am wondering that, are we allowed to sell fakes in this forum? (I personally would say no because: 1. this will help on fake rackets' float and sales 2. this will cause problems if people are buying fakes here and complaining threads will might be flying like snow in the future)
Oh i see. Never tried fakes before so that's why i was so slow to catch that. Sorry Ants, i'm actually faster on the court.
here is what i think is what should happen. firstly, the seller should follow the rule of the MarketPlace, ie. they are not merchants, etc, etc. secondly, the buyer should do their own job to verify the racket, ie, get pictures. however, if the seller is honest and idenfied that he has a fake on sale, it is up to the buyer to choose if he/she buys or not. in other words. it is NOT OK if the seller try to cheat the buyer by advertising a real racket but giving the buyer a fake. otherwise, it is just another badminton racket. note that we are not really promoting the fake racket sale. as the way the Marketplace is structured, it only allows 2nd hand sales of rackets.
