This what i referred to by saying 'forehand grip'. Maybe i am wrong, and these should be called neutral .

Well, they are not extending the index finger, but wrapping it round the handle. No problem.
There is a slight change that needs to be made to the grips guide forehand grip to reflect this placement of the index finger (thumb between index and middle fingers for smashing). If this is what you are referring to, then I agree completely with you
But nothing so extreme as extending the finger up the racket handle.
