can somebody tell about sport shops nearby fortworth area? i was visiting there for a month, so i thought to get a pair of badminton shoes... thanx
You may be out of luck if you're looking for a shop in dallas. well, that's not entirely true. if you look hard enough, you may find someone. i know one of the players from dallas was selling shuttlecocks at one of the tournaments. so maybe he has more supplies. however, right now texas' main badminton supplier is located in houston. he has a store in the chinatown area of houston. i know it's not exactly near dallas, but it's the closest i can get you. the guy that runs it is david chang and his email address is jumpsmash@aol.com. hope this helps
There was a badminton store in SW Dallas back in 1995 before I moved out of Dallas. Too bad I forgot the address, and I don't know if the store is still there. You may look up the yellow page when you get to Dallas to see if the store is still there.
yeah. David is a nice guy. used to hang out in BF too but haven't seen him for a very long time now. i cannot imagine David is the only guy in Texas who sells badminton stuff though. well if he is, then he must be a wealthy guy.
I was thinking TX should be a badminton state since the weather there is fine and cost of living is low, so I was thinking people would have both money and time to play Perhaps I should move to TX (anyway....I think I am going to SF, California next time if everything goes well)
Hey Kwun: I am still here and I am still working on my 1st pot of gold!! I am hoping badminton bussiness can get me there!! Ha Ha!
hey David, didn't know you registered under a different name. oh that make sense, you gave us all those inside scoop about the shoes.. glad to hear that things are going well!
The SHB 89 (yellow)? I have not test the shoes on court yet because I am trying the SHB 98 and the 68 right now. But from initial impression, the shoe run wider than the SHB 98 MX (orange). Lacing system is better. Other than that the shoe is the same.
Badmad, I remember the Oshman's store at Irving had a few badminton stuff, you may try your luck there. http://www.oshmans.com/corp/index.jsp?page=storeLocator&locationCode=797&zip=75063&city=Irving&locName=Irving It's hard to find badminton supply at ordinary sport store; still remember that, once a staff of a sport store even did not know what is badminton .
yeah, that's how i first figured it was him. no one else in texas would have that kind of stuff so quickly. well, i wasn't actually sure. because like you and others say, it is a big state. but mostly, david is our main guy.
