Does bg 80 preform well at low tensions?

This doesn't matter, use the tension that you're used too, everyone has different preferences.

I mean like 22-24 tension compared with 27-29 or something

It may not be suitable to be strung at tension 22.

Try different tensions , are you able to handle 27-29? It may be harder for you to generate more power than something like 22-24. I'm used bg 80 string at 24,25,26 & 28.

I play with bg-80 at 24lbs. I find it suitable for me. For yourself, its a matter of testing different tensions and seeing what you like and dislike.

BG80 is a hard string. I play BG66UM previously @ 27lbs. But for BG80 i play @ 24lbs. It's Alright for me, since BG80 is a hard string. Don't string too high tension if your wrist not that powerful to handle it yet. ;)

I play with BG80 23 pounds sometime. It's still very powerful. BG66UM performs a lot better, but BG80 is still a champ at low tensions.

See I'd say 22 is, but 24 is average, 28+ is high.

I suggest that you try other brands so that you can experience high tensions! :D

They're fun to play with if you can deal with it. I've always wondered what it is like to be Mark A who can play at 28-30 while i just string for fun that high.
