The final curtain is on the way to conclude five World Champions, CHN has secured two titles, their supremo WD category and XD while KOR shows their superiority to nail MD title. Disappointment for home fans, three bronze medalists for Danish shuttlers.

WD, Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei (CHN) v Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang (CHN)
    head-to-head stats : 3-9

The prestige match between two elite CHN pairs, rematch of 2011 London WC where Wang/Yu won the title. A hat-trick by Wang/Yu or first ever WC title for the Olympic Champion Tian/Zhang?

MD, Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol (KOR) v Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong (KOR)
    h-2-h : 0-0

First time meeting between two pairs, Lee/Yoo is hot fave to nail WC crown, third final for Lee YD who partnered with Jung Jae Sung lost in their previous WC final (2007 and 2009). Copenhagen is really fave ground for KOR MD pair, their predecessors Park Joo Bong/Kim Moon Soo and Ha Tae Kwon/Kim Dong Moon claimed WC title also in Copenhagen back to 1991 and 1999 edition respectively.

WS, Li Xuerui (CHN) v Carolina Marin (ESP)
    h-2-h : 3-0

The unfinished business for the Olympic Champion Li Xuerui after nightmare losing last year in front of her homeground to Ratchanok Intanon, and today she will take on another surprising finalist, hugely talented Spaniard who disposed former WC Wang Yihan at R/16. Good to see European player in final and history for Spain, a nothing to lose Marin could pose trouble for Li Xuerui but world #1 certainly will be determined to complete another big title after Olympic gold medal

MS, Lee Chong Wei (MAS) v Chen Long (CHN)
    h-2-h : 9-8

Time is getting closer for Lee CW to bag the elusive WC title and present perfect gift to his country Independence Day. Lee CW has very smooth path en route to his third WC final, all straight-games with convincing scoreline

XD, Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei (CHN) v Xu Chen/Ma Jin (CHN)
    h-2-h : 16-2

Lopsided head to head, ZZ is has favour to reclaim their WC, coincidentally Xu/Ma was their opponent in 2011 London WC edition.

INA must be satisfied with one bronze medal through Tommy Sugiarto, next mission for INA shuttlers is the coming soon Incheon Asian Games.

Can you guys tell me what racket Lee Yong Dae is using in this WC? Is that BS12 or BS12N? I believe Lee and Yoo will win tonight.

MS, Lee Chong Wei (MAS) v Chen Long (CHN) 18: 9/9? 10:8? :)
He used the original racket N55, N80 always lose before use.

This thread seems pretty dead so far. More activity in the semifinals thread. Wonder why?

Action is yet to start and there is not a lot of unpredicatable matches at all this year.

Most exciting is WS others are basically formalities.

Not sure if this matters but that pre game knock up from Zhao/ Tian was probably the worst i've ever seen. An error every 2/3 shots. Maybe nerves?

this WD match is same as WC2011 final... the WD is first match of the day and XD is the last match.

but this time ZYL's opponent in XD is their own team mate.

my prediction for this WD is that ZYL will try her best in the first game. If she loses G1, she will take it easy in game 2.

Expect no quarters to be given by either WD pair, they will be going great guns to cement their place in the Rio Olympic cycle.

Just heard Morten Frost revealing he lost the world championships to Han Jian in 1985 and to Yang Yang in 1987.

ha, clearly meant nothing at all! I remember Ahmad/ Natsir having a dreadful warmup before XD final vs Z/Z at All Engladns's earlier this year..................... and they went onto win

    --------

Yu is playing poorly so far. Needs to turn it around if she wants that fourth consecutive gold.

Nice: First set to Tian/Zhao. Somehow these two are more likable to me. Yu/Wang are just looking so male...

At least it is a good match with good attacking game. They are playing it out despite Zhao having to play the MX final as well!

Yu Yang's ability to maintain the same smashing power is not quite there, after a few hard smashes, she appears to slacken a little, unlike before. I'm referring to all her matches here, not just this final.
