Peter Gade has a very good chance of winning the korea open based on his draw. In the 1.round he is playing a low ranked player from korea. 2 round it is against Andrew Smith or a player from Thailand. 3 round it is Shon Seung Mo he has never lost to him. 4 round Wong Choon Hann or Anders Boesen, Wong choong Hann is in bad shape based on his recent performance, and Anders Boesen Has Gade never lost to. The Semifinals it is Chen Hong and Bao Chunlai both of these players he beat in the China open, and he beat Chen in All England. So Gade has a very good chance of bringing home the trophy.

Sorry to dissapoint you but Gade will not be 'bringing home the trophy' just yet. He has not reached the heights of the days when the won the AE and while he is playing well it will take something special for him to actually win the Korean Open esp with most of the top Asians playing.

My tip: Gade goes out to SS Mo in a rubber set in round 3.

I will make a bet with you that gade beats Shon Seung Mo in the 3. round very easily in 2 sets.

I have major doubts if Hafiz could actually get there in the first place.

Just that the way i see gade play against wong.. i can see that wong dominated the game.. he was just letting loose. Well i might be wrong.. may the best person wins.

Now i cant really say who i think has the best chance, but gade had a hard match against Shon today, but wong played very bad at the all england, but if it was tv broadcasted i think it could be a very good match, but my favourite is Gade based on his recent performance, but i think gades biggest problem is his fysic.

Wong did struggle in the All england.. anyway he has played well in this tournament.. Gade did played well against Shon. I hope we can watch a good game between both of them.

Perhaps the "real" final in this tournament. Except for Chen Hong I think these two shuttlers are superior to the MS players who are left. Of course Xia is there, but I need to see if he can get longer before we can see if hes back at former level

And I won the other half (3 sets) :D

Gade-Wong tough one to call, as Gade's been playing well and Wong not. But just for 'friendly competition' and the winner getting bragging rights over the other I'll pick Wong.

Peter Gade is truly in magnificent form, judging from his recent performances and match reports. If Peter's FITNESS holds, Wong C H will have a very difficult task of beating him. And if Peter should meet Chen Hong in the Semis, Peter should again triumph.

The players in the other half, even Xia, should he emerge the winner, will not be too difficult for Peter. Except perhaps the young, relatively untried Malaysian, Lee Chong Wei, who stunned everybody by beating the very experienced and higher ranked Dane, Kenneth Jonassen, in straight games of under 5 points! Chong Wei had the benefit of resting his injury when he opted out of the Swiss Open and All England.

If Peter is stretched to the rubber against Chong Wei, then Peter will be at a disadvantage. But if Chong Wei were to lose in the QF or SF, then Peter will surely have the best chance to win this big title - the Korea Open! But Chong Wei will not surrender without a good fight- you can bet on that!

The problem with "real" finals is that the winner of that final usually loses the tournament. Because "real" finals really sap energy.

Peter Gade (seemingly on-form, Europe's best) v Wong CH (is his form really back?, can never count him out) will be interesting.
In fact, all the matches will be interesting.
Chen Hong (recovering form after injury) v Dicky Palyama (dark horse)
Xia (off-form for some time now) v Joppien (Europe's bright young hope)
Park Tae Sang (dark horse with home support with giant-killing history) v Lee CW (up-and-coming and current Malaysian top 3)
