I just got a friend to buy me a racquet from Malaysia and he got me a Yonex "Cab 8 Titanium Power SP". I cannot find any info on this model anywhere. It doesn't seem to be in any Yonex catalogue. Anyone heard of this model? Thanks

    that model exists.

sometimes not all models are sold in all countries. and Yonex webpages are specific to a country. as a result, the model may not be in the catalog you see. heck, sometimes some country don't even put all their models in their own catalogs, go figure. :)

That's right. I agree with kwun.

Don't worry Baddy Fan, your "Yonex Cab 8 Titanium Power SP" is original.

I also got one. I bought it 18 months ago. :)

    This racket is quite light.

    Powerful when smashing.

Good to control while you returning your opponent smash.

Thanks everyone. I feel better now. Not that an original or fake is going to make much difference to my game but still, not good if my friend got cheated ....

Bluejeff, the pic you posted is not the power sp but I went to the website and found a pic of my racquet. It's listed as Cab8-Ti Power. :)

If you want to be sure, check with Sunrise in Singapore, because they are the Yonex distributor who owns the "SP" logo engraved on the shaft. Besides the SP appearing on the shaft, what are the two alph that appear on the cone after the numbers? From the 2003 Yonex catalog given out by Sunrise the only Cab 8 is the Carbonex-8, with an aluminium frame and a graphite shaft, and it comes in two colours, red/black and yellow/black.

    Knighthood23,

    Here you go

    http://www.bbeshop.com/image1ra/ra_cab8ti_power.jpg

How much did you pay for your racquet? My friend refuses to tell me as he doesn't want me to pay for it.

I've tried out the racquet and it feels good. I'm just getting back into badminton, having last played 15 years ago. My last racquet was a Carbonex 7!!!

BTW, what's this titanium mesh at 9 and 3 o'clock? Is it meant to strengthen the head?

    Thanks

    Baddy Fan,

Thanks for giving me the website.

I actually pay about USD$50 for the racket.

If not mistaken, The reason Yonex use Titanium Mesh at the frame is becasue it is 2.5 times harder than graphie.

BTW, how many racket do you have now?

Carbonex 7 from the 80s when I played Grade A at High School in Australia. Titanium Pro 30 and Cab 8 Titanium Power. Have been using a MP99 borrowed from a friend but at my skill level, it makes no difference!
