I was just wondering if I was to string my Victor Thruster K8000 with Ashaway 0.75mm gauge strings @ 25lbs, would this be a good idea?

Or is it worth just sticking with Yonex BG65Ti which are 0.70mm @ 26lbs?

I would say 0.75mm would be great for durability but not good for feel. My personal preference is between 0.65 and 0.68 for a good mix of feel and durability.

I wouldn't use a string that's thicker than you need - thicker strings last longer, but have worse power and feel. The only reasons to go with washing lines like 0.75 would be

    a) extremely casual play, and/or
    b) infrequent access to a stringer.

I would start with a 0.70, and if it lasts long enough in your opinion, go to a 0.68.
