My racket which I have been using for the last 12 years broke during a match last week so I would like some advice on what racket to purchase next.

My racket was a Carlton fireblade tour which was even and had a stiff shaft.

I have played badminton for the last 15 years. I am an advanced doubles player and very solid attacking or defending. I do not play singles at all and if I do its just for a knock around.

My backhand is my weak point (like most!).
I did use a racket with a medium flexible shaft when my racket broke and I did notice that my smashes were a lot more effective in mixed. This seemed to suit me.

Hmm.. suggesting equipment to advanced doubles player.. tough ask. As you seem to prefer rackets with slightly flexible shaft for competitive doubles, I'd suggest looking at YY VT70.

Wonder what Carlton are producing in this category at the moment?
