Badminton on TV - NSW Badminton (NSWBA) players on the NRL Footy show soon
NSWBA organised with NRL to shoot footage of NSW players Eva Ratanasena, 2002 Badminton Australia World Junior team member and Uni of NSW Lexcen Sports scholarship holder, and Stuart Gomez, current Badminton Australia reserve squad member, and Uni of NSW Lexcen Sports scholarship holder, for up coming segment on the Footy show.

The Footy Show filmed the players last night at the UTS Club, in Sydney Boys High School. this is about the footy show's highlights of lower profile Olympic sports in the lead up to Athens.

It's not too long ago that the 7 Sunrise program was at Bendigo and feature a few minutes of Badminton with Jeff Tho being interviewed about the Commonwealth Youth Games.

Excert of letter to NSWBA member regarding Footy show segment

Excert of letter to NSWBA member regarding Footy show segment on badminton:

"I'm afraid Darryl's segment has fallen by the wayside. Crowd response wasn't good and so we had to shelve it indefinitely, and now with the games so close, to be perfectly honest they probably won't see the light of day, which is very disappointing for everyone involved.

I'm very sorry for this, as I really wanted it to get up and it was a very good story. That's television for you though. I would like to say thanks for all of your help Jerome and wish you all the best for the future, especially for Australian Badminton at the games.

Man that really sucks, come to think of it, I haven't seen or heard of Eva playing much recently, though she did play Under 23's I suppose. But it certainly wouldn't have hurt having Stu who's probably the best all round young talent we've had in years, and Eva who's got great technique and footwork, and is a complete babe (though she still looks 18 or less :p) appearing in the media.

Shame indeed. I was looking forward to that segment even if it was going to be a 90second clip :)
