    Saw some videos and found out that it is somewhat common to play matches where the game is up to 31 points with no setting to win, change sides at 16. Wondering which countries this is common? Does this happen frequently in clubs in the US?

    Consolation matches in tournaments are often played to 31 points. I think Mid-Atlantic Jrs consolation is played like that. Lots of other tournaments stick with 21, though.

    Golly, It's hard enough to remember the score all the way to 21... can't imagine 31!

    had a sudden death 29-29 game on Tuesday, that's the closest I've come to a 31 point game!

    Not unusual in HK for some competitions.

    In normal club play, more rarely.

    its normal for 1 day tournaments in Malaysia..from 1st round to quarter final. semi final & final are back to 21 points though

    The videos I've seen with the 31 point were from Korea, possibly some sort of exhibition play, maybe? I also saw something from Taiwan, I think that was from a tournament.
