Hello, I have a bravesword 11 and want to purchase more of the 11 but I was wondering if any of the brave swords are similar in play? The Bravesword 10 has a stiffer shaft so not sure that would be a better upgrade? Many thanks
I would say the closest thing to a BS11 is a BSLHI. The BS11 has been my favourite racquet for some time. I have 3 BS11s and 2 LHIs. The BS10 is similar but headlighter and isn't quite as solid.
True, but the LHI is basically the BS11, so if the OP wants something 'similar but different', then the MX60 is one to consider. Another highly underrated option is the Kason TSF500. Difficult to get, but an absolute classic racket. At one stage I had all three of these and they're all in the same bracket but each have their nuances. i haven't tried them but the FHF rackets should also be on the OPs radar.
R20 might have a better opinion on that than me because I only have the 1st gen BS11, but from reports its not markedly different.
It's complicated. The Asian version is also different to the EU version. But basically, be sure to check the stiffness, as there's two different stiffnesses. The AU (Australian) coded ones are the original stiffer version.....not sure if that applies to all codes, I haven't really kept up.
Yes I have a CD code bought 3 years ago and a HK code bought last year. The CD code I believed is what others refer to as original and its more stiff than the HK code I got which is more current. Both BS11 still pretty powerful, just the Asia version is just a tiny bit whippier in an A/B comparison. Stand alone its much harder to tell its "less stiff".
Forgot to respond to this. Yes BSLHI is very similar to BS11. It isn't quite the same in my experience. However you need to remember that not only are there different versions of the BS11, the same versions can feel different too! Victor's quality control in terms of the balance point and weight have not been particularly consistent so it is important to test it before buying if you are sensitive to balance. I have 3 BS11 and all three feel different. My DE and HK coded ones are similar but the HK coded one was marginally more head heavy. My third BS11 is VN coded (if I remember correctly) which is much more head heavy than the other two. My two BSLHI are DE coded and are very similar to my HK coded BS11. The difference I feel with my BSLHI is that it is slightly less stable towards the top of the sweetspot unlike my BS11. The BSLHI essentially feels more like a BS10 with a touch more head weight. If you want a BS11, they are still available in some places in Asia. If not, try a BSLHI as it is very similar. My third choice would be a BS10 - perhaps modified with some lead tape.
No it's S4/B3. Gold BSLYD is S4/B4. Although there are other versions of the BS11 too. But even if the BS11 was S4/B4 it still won't feel the same as the BSLYD as the head shape, frame shape and shaft is different - it's from a different mould altogether.
