does string has its own ideal tension?

    Hi there,

Recently, I've heard from a stringer at AJ Racquet@Puchong Bandar Puteri, stating that a specific string has its ideal tension in order to release its full potential.

    Is this true?

    For a given player, yes.

But strings aren't like car engines, with fixed rpm/horsepower characteristics no matter who the driver is; Player A might find that a string hits hardest at Tension A, but Player B may find it hits hardest at Tension B.

For a given string, there might b a minimum tension threshold at which to maximise its full potential n vice versa.

However, string type n tension level r very personal preferences as these two factors can either complement ur playing style or simply kill it...

if one day we can produce a robotic arm with perfect swing action and robotic stringing machine.

then we can test ideal tension for certain string. Then you can choose which string is ideal at your preferred tension.

For example: hypothetically BG65 is ideal at 30, then most pros will utilise it. BG85 at ..... 20 (hypothetically) then of course its very good for all beginners. Club players would be better using 85 than 65 in general :D

That would be quite cool then again, it would hurt sells of certain string :D:D:D
