Any of you interested in coming over to Victoria for a fun tourney sponsored by Karakal, Domino...and maybe SOTX and Winex?

It would be on at Saturday or Sunday in May depending on what's more popular.

    Details.......

This is a social event open to all recreational players. Victor feather shuttles will be used. Players ranked provincially will not be eligible to participate. I reserve the right to refuse entry to players. Teams of men’s, women’s or mixed are playing each other.

Where: St.Andrews High School (Victoria, BC) – 880 McKenzie Ave
When: Saturday or Sunday in May 2004 - 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (approximately)
Who: The first 16 doubles teams or 32 entrants received. You may enter with a partner, or individually and get paired up.
Format: Two rounds of “Round Robin” pools
Prizes: Prizes for second “Round Robin” pool winners and door prizes at lunch
    Fee: $20.00/player
Fee includes: Shuttles, prizes and a light lunch

It might help people decide whether they can make it if you include average ferry and hotel pricing nearby the venue?

Maybe I can convince my wife we need a weekend badminton getaway heheheh :D .

When I came to Vancouver to play I paid about $42 for vehicle and myself each way. Extra person is around $8.

You could technically come over for the day if wanted. Walk on for around $8/person and I could pick 6 people up at the ferry and take them back for $5/person (that's if there's 3 or more people) or $7/person (less than 3 people) round trip...must be on the 9am ferry.

Maybe WWC will rent out his unit that's downtown!?!!? :D

Best deal would be Traveller's Inn. About 10 min drive away. Grab coupon from ferry for this rate or reserve online www.travellersinn.com

    Spring Rates: from $59.95 ($43.95 USD) (Mar. 1 - May 15)
    Shoulder Rates: from $79.95 ($58.95 USD) (May 16 - Jun. 12)

This would be a fun filled day of playing lots of badminton. Two rounds of round robin play of about 4, 5 or 6 teams in each pool.

I hope it will not be the May long weekend. I know there will be a bunch going to the Washington Open.

You players choose the date, I'll run it on the most popular day chosen.

If you're looking at May, the 1st/2nd and the 15th/16th would probably be better dates. The 8th might be an ok date as well.

On the 22nd/23rd is the VRC junior B tournament. The Washington Open is also running on the 22nd. Then on the 29th is my fun tournament at Bethany Church in Richmond.

Panhandle, since you are coming to the lower mainland, why don't you just organize a tournament here while your at it. Instead of having all of us going over to victoria, it can just be you coming here..hahaha :D
