Hi there. You're already playing 3 times a week? Can be quite tiring huh? Anyway, if you are interested i've got a group. We play quite regularly on Sundays at CCK/Bkt Gombak/Jurong East. Pls let me know if you're interested.
Hi interested in playing at Toa Payoh Sports Hall every Thursday night, 7pm~9pm? Email me at alvinsim@gst.com.sg *Note: Must be average and above player, need to spar for first game so as not to be lobe sided, hope youy understand. Cheers
Hi, See your stats, last time school team player, maybe can, come try for the first game loh to try out the standards ) email me at alvinsim@gst.com.sg so that I can have your email to send you the confirmation of court booking by Tuesday night) (Booking of badminton courts always on Tuesday)
Hi, are you guys Inter-Con players or ex-National players? Would like to join but I don't think I'm up to your standard. The last time I sparred with ex-National players, I got trashed under 5!
Hi, Please dun misunderstand, why the try out is because if happen to be lobe sided, it will be just a 10minutes game instead of a good 20minutes game. If you are too good, you may also not wan to play with us if our skill are poorer than yours, that is why I initiate the try out. Please understand. Cheers
Frankly speaking, I will say sorry man, rather let one suffer than let five person suffer life in badminton is like that man
Hi, I'm currently managing a social group. So I like to seek other people's experience in organising such groups and also share mine. My group has players ranging from total beginners to inter-con players and ex-national trainees. We first struck the understanding among all members that our group is a "social" group where we mix around and have fun. So it is common for even an inter-con player to partner or play against a total beginner. I guess the mindset of the group here is most important. I'm just wondering... in your group, say in 6 months, one of your members do not improve as fast as the others... do you guys kick him out of the group? The other extreme is, of course, a member who improves dramatically and starts to trash everybody else in the group. I'm sorry. I don't mean to be rude. But we had such situations in the past and the experiences were not so sweet. So we eventually adopted the "social" mindset and we started to have fun together again. Even when players from the 2 extreme ends play in the same court, everyone will still play all out to win. But more importantly we treasure the relationship and friendship much more than the game itself. And to our surprise even, our standards all improved (even the better players!).
Hi Wukong, Your explaination is logical, but that is not our intention. Our mindset is to have a good game. After stress from work, we would like a good game to really sweat out and enjoy it. I can really tell you, playing with beginner is as good as giving him 15 good smashes, which end the game in within 10minutes, thus discouraging the beginner and dampen the mood of the other players. Example on my dad side, there is 4 particular players who will always play together, and the game last for an hour, tired BUT they enjoy because they have a really good game because the standards are the same and they can rally for minutes. That particular point that they gain gives them so much satisfaction compared to a lobe sided game where confirmed only one side will win. Sorry to stress again, that what we want is a good game to destress and not just a playing "ping pong" session. Matter of fact, those that can really improve are the younger one between 15~22 years of age. Cheers
I see... Its great to see many badminton enthusiasts like us around Singapore. Hope you guys have a great time. Cheers.
If you are staying in the east you may like to know that we play every weekday morning between 7am to 9am at Pasir Ris sports hall. Come and join us and it is FREE.
