Lately I have been trying to get my hands on the string Ashaway MicroPower. So far I have only tried Ashaway 65 and I want to know what are the pros and cons about these 2 strings. Ashaway 65 is fine just want to try something new for a change. Reply please everyone.

Did you try Jonah at http://www.tiopan.com/~badminton/
(in Vancouver, I think). Haven't ordered from there for a couple years, but he was very nice to deal with.

Doesn't seem to have much information. Any personally preferences about these 2 strings?

I think there might be some misunderstanding. When I say Ashaway 65 I mean Zymax 65.

    I'm assuming you're using 24 for plastic and 26 feather with ZM65.

So for ZM62 for feather, you should try 25 lbs... you'll never turn back to ZM65! :)

I use both tensions for plastic and feather depending on who I am playing. The reason why I consider ZM65>ZM62 is because ZM65 has more durability over ZM62. Both strings have the same power just durability difference. What do you say?

ZM62 at 24-25 lbs is still durable, when used with feather. But the crispness, repulsion and feel is much much better than ZM65.

If you already use 65, you really owe it to yourself to try 62 at least once.

Nah, that's old string. As a matter of fact there will be new strings from Ashaway in 2015. There's a thread started.

ZM66XP Control and Power will be excellent replacements for 65.

That chart is full of a lot of 9's and 10's. And therefore not so useful. (How can everything be almost perfect?)

Here is one humble recreational player's opinion:

Zymax 65 is not my favorite string. i find it kind of waxy/dead. And I found the same for 66Control. But obviously, if you liked 65 then 66 would be good comparison for you.
Micropower is a good string. "Harder" than BG65 but not as hard as BG80. I think it would be a good comparitor for your Zymax 65. (I have a couple lengths that I'm saving for a rainy day)

Zymax 62 is very lively but short-lived if you are strong. But it's just my cup o' tea. ;-)

MicroPower is a hard/stiff string. In general, I don't like how it feels no matter what tension I string it at. But if you like stiff/hard strings, MicroPower would be feel good to you.

Zymax 65 is kinda wonky. I can't describe the feeling of Zymax 65. It feels truly odd and I can't find any other strings that feel like it. Its repulsion is better Zymax 67, but feels very dead as compared to Zymax 67. Control is good though. Sound is also not that bad.

Thanks for the advice. I am just trying find the best strings to fit my VT80PG and vzf2. So far I have tried BG 80, BG80 Power and Zymax 65. I feel Zymax 65 has more power then the other 2. Durability Zymax is still better. What would you say? Would you recommend any other strings that might fit me? I am an offense player that does mostly singles and little doubles.

If you send me $5, I'll mail a pack of ZM62 to try. Best Zymax string.

Both Zymax 65 and Micropower are good strings, but bear in mind they are made in different material and hence the feel is different.

I have played with ZM65 twice, pretty nice, though a bit soft to my liking. Repulsion and feel wise it is very good, much better than ZM67 (ZM67 feels a bit dead). If you don't pop strings often, I would strongly suggest you try out ZM62 (my favorite), the feel and crispiness is just on a different level, the harder feel also helps with offensive play :p BUT be warned, ZM62 HATES mishits. Higher tension with hitting on the wrong spot almost always guarantees another visit to your local stringer. Also note there are three colours of ZM62, the red one has a smoother surface and has a slight different feel/grip than the other colours.

A really good string, worth having a try. Suitable for offensive play.

Also the only thick string (.69mm) I use on my racquets.
