The last remaining singles slot for Malaysian WC team is now a two-horse race between the experienced Yong Hock Kin and the fast-improving youngster Lee Tsuen Seng.

Who is the more deserving player???

The deserving one should be the one who wins when they have practice matches together.

    Latest news:
Tsuen Seng was picked ahead of Hock Kin for an exhibition match in Batam along with veteran, Ong Ewe Hock.

Does this mean "sayonara" for Yong Hock Kin? ;-]

There's always life after the world Champs. Admittedly, the longer YHK is out, the worse it is.

Hock Kin was hardly tested in the Asia Cup. Beaten unknowns in the 2 matches played. Does not have any grand victories to show for the past 1 year.

Tsuen Seng has shown a remarkable leap in the world ranking. He was not even among the top 100 early this year, but today he is world no 18. Even though beaten in the seconf round of Japan Open, he did gave Shon Seung-mo a run for his money. Shon was quoted to have better potential to go further than his compatriot, Lee HI.

Believe that Tsuen Seng may even beat all the Indonesians in near future. He has even chalked up convincing victory over Taufik. The only Indonesian player to watch in future is Rony Augustinus. The rest are already well past their prime time (i.e. Hendrawan, Marleve and Budi).

Have only seen one match that Lee Tsuen Seng played and that was the final of the Swis Open. It's difficult to comment on his game as that was a 5 x 7 format.

Other than saying he has lots of potential (like everybody else who has one good run), there's not much else to add.

Grabbing Olympic Silver was Hendrawan's prime time.
    But
When were the prime time for Marleve and Budi?

Lee Tsuen Seng edged Yong Hock Kin 4 the last slot in Msian team.
Coach, Indra Gunawan mentioned that Tsuen Seng is Msia's player of the future.
Hope 2 see him qualified at least the semis.
Hopefully the will be a repeat of Swiss Open final in WC!

    MALAYSIA BOLEH!!!

ah well, browsed another forum just now. and it was said that he, after resigned ( or kicked out) from BAM is now working in a bank. Don't know how true it was, though.

    * Is it "legal" to dig up this old thread?

I hope the new was no truth. Hock Kin was a talented player who can beat any player during that times. I knew him during the Thomas cup, he played too good.
