    Hi all,

I had bought 2 Nanoray 750's in December at £145 each, then during a league match I had a clash with my partner who was using a Victor BS12 (it was my shot, he tried to take on his backhand... grrrr) and he sliced through my new racket! I even called nice an early for the shot, he chose to ignore me... lol. I was gutted!! Didn't have the racket long.

I daren't use the other racket in matches now... even though it is my favourite racket.

Then 3 days later, I'm a badminton coach so was doing some demos in smashing, I went for one smash, hit it and heard an almighty crack. I thought hmmm, looked at my Nanoray 500 and this is what had happened.

There was no crack or anything I had noticed beforehand. That racket thankfully I had bought on sale for £90 over a year ago so not quite as bad but I've had some bad luck recently.

Here's hoping 2015 will yield no racket breaks, well not new expensive ones anyhow.

    Kindest regards,

    -Ajay-

I had a nanoray 800 which broke after a smash it was strung @24 lbs and had never been clashed before. Maybe yonex head light rackets aren't strong I guess

Tbh all Nanorays are implosions waiting to happen. Aside from the 900, I'd expect the rest to go even within warranty tensions.

Could you recommend a strong racket hh mid flex with high torsion and reasonably priced . My current options are
    1.Li Ning xiphos x-1
    2.Li Ning n50II/n50III/n55III
    2.Ashaway phantom x speed
    3.Yonex duora z strike/10
    4.Victor bravesword 10/Lhi
    5.Victor thruster k onigiri
Am reasonably weak so would like a user friendly racket

Options 1, 2, 3, and 6 are fine choices for head heavy mid flex. 4 and 5 are ridiculous choices if you have a weak arm and technique. They're stiff and extra stiff rackets in there. Not sure how you conducted your process of elimination but perhaps more research should be done next time.

You can also consider the Astrox 77 or Voltric 70-Tune. They not as head heavy as the N50III or N55III but they have reasonable heft to them and are very user friendly.

By "High Torsion" I hope you mean high torsional stability.. Otherwise I have no idea why you'd want something unstable..

Thank you for your reply, I guess I understated myself by mentioning weak I have good technique and forearms but poor shoulders(internal rotation pain) am going to therapy am much more relaxed now the stiffness has been reduced.
Li Ning n7 II TD /TF versions are on clearance sale right now are they good enough for an intermediate player ?
Yeah by high torsion I meant stability no side flex on frame

The racket is only as good as the player is. If course the other half of that is whether the player suits the racket or not. There's nothing wrong with either.

I'm assuming price isn't a real issue for you to get one at least. My concern is your choice of extra stiff and stiff rackets in there. Your shoulder is bad according to you. None of the stiff or extra stiff rackets in that list are going to do you any favours beyond potentially making it worse. I speak from experience on that BTW. Sure you could pick it up and use it for awhile, but you'd better be damned sure you're warmed up and don't go beyond 2 hours with it. It's not fun when you can't lift your arm properly the next day just because you ignored the signs.

K am not gonna use yonex duora z strike/10 and victor brave sword 10/lhi.
I mentioned those to give you an idea of pricing here.
Li Ning prices are really high to give you an example yonex z force 2 is £ 115 and li Ning n 90 IV is £213

Ah I see. Understand where you're coming from. LN is equally overpriced here but hey, that's just the way it is. Simple ideology really, if it's too much for you then don't get it. Everything else on your list are perfectly good and capable at getting the job done.
