Friend of mine is badminton engineer and gave me titanium mesh used in the racket. This material is still used but they don't promote they use titanium because of marketing purpose. Material itself has great technical function for increasing durability but YY used used it for marketing long time with Ti-10. So titanium has old image in badminton market. So company do not use, instead they use kevelar, hotmelt, or frame shapes octagon shape, sword shape, and so one. Titanium is still used in rackets but the cost is higher than graphite so not many brands using it. This what I heard Anyways, this is 99% pure Titanium mesh used in Racket sports. It's fun to watch. This is pretty cool, thanks for posting. I'm not a chemist, so what is on the mesh that is acting as a fuel for the fire? I wonder at what temperature does the mesh become that brittle.
The titanium was not on fire, it was the gluing agent that holds the fine titanium wires together. Neat anyway.
