Why don't you just buy a mini shuttle since everything will be in proportion not just small feathers on a normal sized cork base, they are very cheap, only a few $$.

here's a minibird that I won at a club tournament in March. It's made by Victor and I think it was purchased at Tad's in Vancouver, roughly $5-6 CAD each. It originally comes with a plastic case, but I needed that case for somethin else so its sitting in a shotglass for now :D. I plan to hang it in my car someday when I get one.

That's the one I have as well, the sticker on the inside is the IBF badge and not the Victor logo

    How strange!

Maybe it's sanctioned for use in official mini tournaments

I have made one, and it looks stupid. There is no way in hell you can put the feathers out of the cork because there is so much glue on it. What I did was cut the feather part out, leave about 1 cm of the stick in tact on the cork. Then use scissors or something to grab the stick part and yank it out of the cork one at a time.

Here's the mini shuttlecock I made, it looks really ugly and took me half an hour and not to mention a lot of mess too from all the feather and glue. It was not fun making it, just go buy one. Don't know how they made it look so good on that website.

its actually pretty easy to pull the feathers out of the cork. you just need to wiggle the feathers where the cork and feathers meet. and you guys do know to cut a section of feathers out so you can have a little more room to work with?

i forgot the mention is the other thing you could do is just cut the feathers off where the feathers and the cork meet. then you can modify it a little bit.

here are some picts of mine. the bird is a bit dirty because it flew off the keychain as i was driving. it was hung on the mirror and fell behind the seat.

i have made two. the first one looked like smashingbird's and ended up falling apart. below is my second attempt, which turned out pretty good. it looks a little rough now because it's been on my bag for about 3-4 months and has been banged on the wall when i put my bag down, etc.

It's actually not too hard to pull out the feathers. I used a brand new yonex as-20 shuttle and all I did was use a pair of pliars to pull them out. because of the good quality of the shuttle, it was easy to put the modified feathers (shortened and cut) back into the holes. i used the last feather to place a keychain onto it before putting it back in the last hole. after that, i just added a string (to keep the key chain from coming off the feather and for "looks") and used a glue gun to hold it in place.

I don't know how you guys manage to pull the feathers out, but the shuttle I used was a victor shuttle and it had so much glue on it is not even funny. By looking at some of the pictures of you guys mini shuttle, it looks to be quite clean(not much glue)..the ones I had seem like the guys who made the shuttle just pour glue all over the shuttle.

It would be a bullet, actually quite dangerous since its so small and so fast, might hit someone in the eye :(
