Thanks to soccer, I can easily buy yellow and red cards that work fine for Badminton umpires anywhere, at least here in Europe. But where can I buy black cards? I cannot find them on Amazon, nor on the homepage of a local referee accessories producer. I hope this is the right subforum - the marketplace seems to focus on rackets. But of course, if any of you are willing to sell black cards (I like to have a spare or two), I'd be willing to buy
Thinking about black carding anyone soon? How about just laser printing one on a 4x6 inch card stock?
Printing sounds like a great and obvious idea; but how can I cut it that precisely? I mean, straight lines are easy, but Or do you suggest printing on a blank white card (those can be bought here)? I'll also look into 3D printing, that may be an option too. On a closer inspection, printing seems to what my regional badminton association does; if you look closely at a picture of official cards (I apologize for the photo quality), you can see that the black card is decidedly thinner. The black card also feels more wobbly than the yellow or red one.
Yep, or you could get a yellow or red or any colour card and grab a can of black spray paint and just spray it black? Then you'll have the right thickness and don't have to worry about cutting.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try out a few options, in particular buying fencing cards, 3D printing, and painting white cards. Will report with the results, stay tuned
