Sealion gold is still the best seller and consistent value for money shuttle in this part of the world.

Out of curiosity, what exactly are you basing that off? Conjecture, or do you actually have any facts or figures to back such a claim?

Actually most of the brand in Malaysia was rebranding/OEM. Like RCL and Sealion both also import from China. But in China, my friend told me the famous brand was Yonex.
Recently there was few new shuttlecok in Malaysia Market such as Yue Feng and Chao Pai. Which is also come from China.

Older generations will know it because sealion has been in the market for 30-40 years. Experience says it. Proven because it is always out of stock in Malaysia due to popular demand. Yonex is good but expensive. Sealion is comparable to AS40. So you can compare the price. OMG?? For new brands, they are seasonal. One season is good and another is lousy. Do you know that most manufacturers cheats by putting 3 lousy shuttles into a dozen and sells it? Hope you like this tip. lol.

Agreed with extremenanopowe. A lot of brand is seasonal. So we, consumer have to get ready to change to other shuttlecock always.

Bro, if you play for 30-40 years every single week, then you can recommend me la.. lol. Else, stick to experience people's advice. Less headache. Nothing is free in life. We have gone through all kinds of shuttles.

Well I alternate between AS40 and RSL CLassic Tourney and often find I prefer the RSL. AS50 is king but with that price....it should be the King and the Queen!

Is your preference based on flight and durability or value for money? In KL, AS40 cost 30% more than RSL Classic Tourney.

A bit of everything. I think if we're talking value for money included, RSl Classic Tourney is easily my fave. I'm not just saying that because I distribute and sell RSL shuttles, I had many vendors to choose from and I chose RSL because of all the shuttles I tested, I found them to be the best bang for buck. They have essentially the same flight pattern and durability as AS40's, but at a much more affordable price.

I initially used to buy and sell only Yonex, then moved on to Aeroplane, which admittedly have great durability, but imo less accurate flight pattern. After testing several others, I've finally settled on RSL Classic. I actually wrote out a comprehensive comparison of them somewhere on the forums back when I was testing.
